Laughter has a way of relieving stress and making bad days a little bit better.Chinggay Nuque does exactly that.

In 2010, Chinggay was enlisted for help by her friend Antoinette Jadaone. They wanted to release an “anti-coffee shop” planner, one that was witty, relatable, and most importantly, accessible to anyone. The duo, together with artist and friend Karl Castro, came up with Witty Will Save the World, a brand that sells notebooks and journals that cater to the unique humor of the Filipino. Initially, Chinggay was dealing with the business end of the planner. But as years passed, Antoinette was getting busier with directing films, and Chinggay needed to take over.

Chinggay says that what helped her the most was not sitting on her laurels. She makes every opportunity count while striving to improve herself and her craft. She also wants to face the next challenge in her work: producing things other than paper products.

What Chinggay is proudest of is the fact that she can make others laugh with just a few words. She loves the feeling she gets when someone tells her, “You got me through some hard times.” She delights in being able to keep spreading joy and comfort to the people she encounters. She is aware that some may not understand what she does; they might even think that it’s always better to stay in the corporate world. But Chinggay finds this job more fulfilling than any corporate position she could have had because, to her, nothing is more important than being able to make others happy in the way she knows best.
